Leather, preferably black though the style and color aren't that important. Customise it with studs taken from an old belt (pyramid studs are ideal as these are easy to remove and apply). If you want, you can paint it with hard-wearing acrylic paint. In hot weather a denim jacket with sleeves removed can be worn instead. Some old school punks wear suit or tuxedo coats customised in the same way, or a green army surplus field jacket
